Barceló Santa Catalina: a multi-awarded life space
It is the oldest hotel in operation in the Canary Islands... and now, too, the best in Spain. Or, at least, that's how the World Travel Awards have judged it in its 29th edition, which, by the way, also awarded it a couple of years ago as the best historic hotel in Europe.
We are talking about Santa Catalina, a Royal Hideaway, the highest level of Barceló's accommodation and it's now featuring an Ecler full av experience.

The Barceló Santa Catalina Hotel, a historical enclave with more than 100 years in the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, is one of the most iconic hotels on the island and not only has been awarded as the best Spanish Hotel in 2022 but its restaurant also possesses a Michelin star.
Our solution
In order to provide guests with the best possible experience, the hotel management team decided to trust Ecler team to guide them and upgrading the hotel's audio and video systems. After researching various solutions, they chose Ecler pro AV solutions for their space.
Ecler's team of experts worked closely with the hotel management team to design and install a custom audio and video system that would meet the hotel's unique needs.
To manage the complex audio routing and distribution across the 16 indoor and outdoor zones of this gigantic project, Ecler recommended their MIMO7272DN matrix, four DN44BOB interface, and several WP22DN wall panel featuring Dante protocol for reaching separate building locations.
To make managing the system as easy as possible, Ecler’s team have helped configuring EclerNet’s user control panels in both WPNETTOUCH and PAGENETDN, which allow hotel staff to quickly and easily control the audio and video system from anywhere in the hotel, including paging and voice messages.
In addition to the managing solutions, Ecler also proposed installing a DUO-NET PLAYER audio player, three eHSA4-150, two eHSA4-250 and one eHSA4-500 amplifiers, which provide powerful and reliable audio amplification to the entire variety of more than 138 loudspeakers including 13 IC3, 74 IC8 and 19 IC6CLASS-TR of Ecler ceiling range, 22 eMOTUS5OD cabinets and 14 IG108 for outdoor purposes. But the list of loudspeakers also includes eAMBIT103 and eAMBIT106. Regarding the video solutions and knowing that covering big distances within the hotel was a challenge, the projects team has recommended extending 4K video signals using a single Cat5 or high cable with the VEO-XPT24 extender.
In conclusion, Ecler's team main goal has been, since the begining, helping to enhance the guest experience at the Barceló Santa Catalina Hotel resulting in an exceptional life space that sets the Hotel apart from other hotels on the island.
