Intangibles Telefonica Foundation Exhibition
ARTWORK CONSPICUOUS BY THEIR ABSENCE!
Is it possible to have an art exhibition without the physical art? Is it possible to be moved by a digital layout without seeing the artistic object itself? “Intangibles: a digital exhibition from the Telefónica Collection” is an innovative experimental project that invites us to ponder these questions through the reinterpretation of artists’ work from Telefónica Collection.
Intangibles is a Telefónica and Cubensis production, and Ecler was the brand selected to equip the audiovisual experience.

Insights
Nine artists and nine digital experiences that will be simultaneously exhibited in seven Latin American cities: Mexico City, Mexico - Mar de Plata, Argentina -Montevideo, Uruguay – Bogotá, Columbia - Quito, Ecuador - Santiago de Chile, Chile - Lima, Peru and Madrid, Spain. Considered as a ground-breaking project in its concept and global character, it also transcends the space/time framework, where one of its strengths is its simultaneity: all the exhibition venues will be connected in real time and will share some of the contents and experiences.
Solution
For an enhanced experience, AV equipment plays a fundamental role in the visitor’s immersion:
Juan Gris experience features an Ecler ARQIS 2.1 system.
As for Picasso’s, Ecler ePLAYER1 reproduce holophonic content activated by GPI’s once the visitor picks up the headphones or replaces them after use.
The surround 5.2 Chillida’s experience also features ARQIS series of loudspeakers.
Regarding visuals, 21 Ecler 4K video extenders manage video signal across all the different rooms.
Cubensis technical director Jorge Díaz, pointed that Ecler’s reliability was a determining factor when choosing the AV equipment for this exhibition. Díaz also emphasized that all components (amplifiers, players and video extenders) need to perform on a 24/7 basis without interruptions. These amplifiers work with auto stand by function for lower energy consumption.
The exhibition can be visited on the 3rd floor of the Espacio Fundación Telefónica in Madrid from Friday 11 October 2019 at 2 p.m. until 23 February 2020.
